Teacher Anthony: My Adventures as an Expat Math Teacher in Thailand
Where I Have Traveled in Thailand (2019-2021)
Yes! I am BFITS Thailand!
This May 2021 will mark my two years living in Thailand. Let me tell you about where I have traveled while living as a BFITS teacher in this beautiful country. What will you see in Thailand? Where should you travel? These are the questions I will answer in this blog.
If you like historical ruins of temples and palaces you should go to Ayutthaya; it is about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok. You will burn a lot of calories going up and down each temple, but for sure you will enjoy the view from the top. If you want to see magnificent architectural structures, visit the White and Blue Temple in Chiang Rai. It is Thailand’s northernmost province. You will be moved and astounded by how these structures are built.
How about beaches? Then you will love the pristine shore of Pattaya and the panoramic islands of Krabi. Pattaya is a city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast and much known for its beaches while Krabi is on southern Thailand’s west coast and a province characterized by craggy, sheer limestone cliffs, dense mangrove forests, and more than a hundred offshore islands. You will surely enjoy water sports activities, nightlife and sanctuary of shrines when you visit these places!
How about an exciting hike and camping? Then you should probably go to Phetchabun and Phu Chi Fa! Phetchabun is a province in north – central Thailand and lies in the Pa Sak River Valley between parallel ranges of the Phetchabun Mountains while Phu Chi Fa, also called Phu Chee Fah, which actually translates to “the mountain that points to the sky”, is a mountain area and national park in Thailand. Don’t forget to wake up early for you to see the spectacular sunrise and vagrant white sea of clouds.
How about thrilling extreme activities? Then do a cliff diving and zip line in Grand Canyon Water Park Chiang Mai. This water park in Chiang Mai offers you inflatable obstacle course slides, a small zipline, wakeboarding and cliff diving.
Thailand has a lot of places to visit! I also manage to visit the village of the long neck ethnic hill – tribe, the Karen Long Neck Tribe, am astonished with their crafting, wood carving and weaving skills, moreover in their colorful and very lively simple life. It is also my first time to meet the national symbol and icon for Thailand which are the elephants, the symbol of strength and endurance. And, lastly, how will I ever forget the ornate shrines and vibrant street life of Bangkok? Experiencing the nightlife and river cruise around the city is one of the best!
You want to experience this life? Come! Live and teach here in Thailand!
